The Hypnotist: Chapter 2

Chapter 2

Xander smiled as he stared down at the hypnotized Clark Kent. He could hardly believe his luck. Before him sat a highly susceptible Superman. The hero in disguise was complete under his power. His blue eyes was glazed over and a bit of drool was formed on his partly open lips. The hypnotist knew that Clark’s admission to him was absolutely true. Is was impossible for subjects to lie when they were that down under. The audience behind him didn’t make a sound as they watched the spinning spiral on the screen to the back of the stage. It was always part of his act to put them under as well without even knowing it. No one knew that Xander uncovered the secret of the century.

It was luck that had put Clark in his hands to begin with. Xander had initially set his sights on Lois Lane. The female report has a thorn and a problem to many people. From high up to politicians to criminals, she had exposed many in her investigative reporting. With Lois under his control, he would have been able to charge these people a fortune to have their secrets safe. Yet fate had delivered Clark Kent into his hands instead. Superman was a much better prize than Lois Lane. Lex Luthor alone would pay billions to have control over the do gooder. His brilliant mind began to form a plan on how to obtain incredible power.

He wanted to crush Superman’s mind then and there, but Xander knew that he had to be careful. The hero was the most powerful and if anyone could resist his hypnotic powers, it would be Superman. “Superman?” His smooth deep voice asked testing to see how his victim would respond.

“Yessss,” The unsuspecting hero answered.

Perfect, Xander thought to himself. “You will remember the current state that you are in. When I say the words, “Boy Scout”, you will return to this state and await my instructions.”

The instructions sank in with no resistance. Perhaps this was going to be easier than he thought. Regardless, Xander intended to take things nice and slow until Superman’s resistance was crushed. He would lead the hero down a path of submission and destruction and by the time the hero suspected anything it would be too late. Having the powerful hero under his control gave him a very nice feeling of ultimate control. His racket of uncovering secrets of the rich and powerful and using them for his own gain just became a lot bigger. This time the stakes were the highest with the best prize with his grasp.

Turning back to the audience, Xander smiled as he saw their blank expressions. They were just under his power as much as Superman. “Ladies and Gentlemen, before I wake you, you will do two things. First you will rave about this show and tell all your friends to attend. Tell them this is the best show you had ever seen and they should buy tickets. Second, any news about Superman, you will start to think that he is a poor hero. You will yearn to humiliate him and any humiliation or defeat that Superman suffers will make you happy. When I snap my fingers, you will awaken.”

His fingers snapped and the audience’s eyes popped open. They had no idea what had happened or about the mental suggestions that he had implanted in his mind. Smiles came over their faces as they looked at Clark Kent sitting in the chair slightly swaying. “As you can see, I have Mr. Kent under my control. Shall we see what I can make him do?”

The cheers of the audience thundered across the room. They had been enthusiastic before but this was a whole new level. It was is if deep down they knew that Xander had Superman under his control. Even Lois was cheering and whistling like she was at a pep rally.

“Stand up, Mr. Kent,” Xander ordered.

The big lug lumbered up to his feets as his body swayed from the deep state of unconsciousness that he was in. Taking a closer look at the unsuspecting reporter, Xander immediately saw the resemblance to Superman. It was amazing how a pair of glasses could change your whole look. It was now time to test his ment hold over the hero.

“When I snap my fingers, you will come out of this state of deep relaxation. You will think you are a chicken and act like one. Three, two, one.” His fingers snapped and Clark looked around sheepishly. The hot lights of the stage made him blink uncertainty as the audience waited with anticipation. “Why don’t you tell the audience your name,” Xander suggested as he also was anxious to see what would happen. He had taken down powerful men before but this was his first superhero to be under his control.

Clark opened his mouth to reply, but instead he clucked like a chicken. “Cock-a-doodle-do.”

The audience burst into laughter to the point of tears. The shade of red that his face turned was something that Xander relished. He always thought Superman to being cocky and full of himself and inflicting this small amount of humiliation was a joy for him. It was a joy for the rest of the audience as well. His hypnotic suggestion to enjoy any humiliation inflicted on Superman unconsciously transferred to Clark Kent as well. They laughed to the point of crying and several ladies had to rush to the restroom as they undoubtedly peed themselves.

“I want you to walk from this far end of the stage to the other end and back to the center of the stage,” Xander instructed next.

No resistance at all, as Clark folded his arms as they were wings and strutted across the stage acting like a chicken. The roar of laughter caused the reporter so much discomfort but he was unable to stop himself. Xander’s hold over him was even too powerful for the mighty Superman to shake off.

One thing Xander noticed when Clark returned to him was that the bulge in his pants seemed to be a little bigger than normal. He kept the observation to himself and the audience could not see because of the distance from them to the stage. It seemed Superman was getting a sexual thrill of being humiliated like this. Could the big strong hero have a secret fetish that he had been hiding from the world. He resisted his urge to cop a feel to see if his theory was correct. That would have to wait until next time.

The hypnotist put his newest victim through a few more humiliating acts as Clark was incapable of doing anything but to act like a chicken. The audience ate it up with glee causing the reporter even more discomfort. The best part was that Clark knew what was going on, but was unable to put a stop to it. Despite of all of Superman’s amazing powers, his mind seemed to be quite weak. Xander knew exactly how to take advantage of this weakness.

Once he had enough, the hypnotist raised his hands up for silence. They could have heard a dime dropping as everything stopped in the room. “Give a hand for Clark Kent. He has been a great sport even with his reputation of being a boy scout.”

The word was said and Clark immediately went back into his deep state of relaxation. His eyes glazed over as his muscular body swayed back and forth. Keeping his words away from the microphones, the hypnotist leaned in close to give his next instructions. “After the show, you will receive an invitation to meet me backstage,” He whispered softly. “You will accept this invitation.”

A snap of his fingers and Clark was back to normal. His reddened face smile sheepishly as Xander congratulated him for being a great sport. They shook hands and sent him back to his seat where a happy Lois waited. No one not even Superman suspected anything at all.

Clark stumbled down the steps of the stage trying to cover the blushes on his face. He could not believe that he did all those things in front of everyone. He didn’t know what to expect when he was picked to be part of the show. As he went back to his seat, the people around him laughed and pointed. They seemed to get great joy over his ‘performance’ on stage. As long as everyone had a good time, that is what counted. He thought trying to find a silver lining over his cloud.

Lois was ecstatic as well as she grinned at him. She was still giggling as he sat down next to her. “Oh my, you were fantastic Smallville,” She said trying to get over her fit of giggles. “I can’t believe that you were acting like a chicken.”

Having the woman that he loved more than life itself laughing at him made Clark a little uncomfortable. Yet he tried to put a smile on his face and laugh with her. “Yes, it was not what I expected at all,” He agreed sheepishly.

“I am going to have to call Perry and see if we can get this in tomorrow’s paper. “Farmboy Reporter Returns To His Roots as Chicken Kent.” I wonder if this show is taped? We could even get it on the Six O’clock News.”

Clark shifted uncomfortable at her suggestion. He felt she was taking this too far and the last thing he wanted was for this experience to go viral. Working hard to establish himself as a serious journalist, if word got out it would make it that much harder to do his work. “Let it go, Lois. It wasn’t that funny,” He said trying to get her to forget the idea.

The rest of the show continued and Xander performed at top form. The audience absolutely loved it with their oohs and laughter. More people were brought up on stage and they too were put under and made to do humiliating things, but the audience’s reaction weren’t nearly as great as his own experience on stage. Clark tried to pay attention and enjoy himself, but he constantly felt eyes on him and could have sworn people were pointing and laughing at him still.

Xander came out for the final bow and Clark was relieved that the show was finally over. This whole experience had been a nightmare for him. All he wanted to do was to go home and try to forget that this ever happened.  Unlike him, Lois seemed to have the time of her life. She laughed just as hard as everyone and as the room lights came back on she was still raving about the show.

“Wow, that was the best show I had ever seen,” She gushed. “No wonder it was so hard to get tickets”

“Sure,” Clark replied showing more enthusiasm that he felt.

Lois saw right through his facade and patted his cheek. “Stop pouting, Smallville. It was all in good fun and you weren’t the only one called on stage. You really need to relax and stop acting so still all the time.”

He opened his mouth to reply when a smartly dressed man approached them. “Mr. Kent? I am the manager of this theatre. Xander wanted me to invite you backstage to meet him. He does this will everyone who is kind enough to be a part of his show. If you would follow me, then I will escort you to him now.”

Clark wanted to refused and be done with this experience. He opened his mouth to refuse, but instead found himself nodding instead. “Sure, I would be happy to meet him,” He said politely accepting the invitation.

Lois grinned as she grabbed her purse. “I can’t wait to meet him,” She gushed as she prepared to follow.

The Manager held his hand out. “I’m sorry, Ms. Lane, but the invitation was for Mr. Kent alone.”

Pouting, Lois softly punched Clark on his arm. “Sometimes, I hate you Smallville. Make sure you get his autograph for me.”

Clark nodded slowly as he followed the manager. Why did he say yes? The last thing he wanted was to meet the man who completely humiliated him. He had a feeling of dread that he just could not explain. Maybe Lois was right and he was being overly sensitive. After all, he wasn’t the only one who had been called to stage. By the time he got backstage to the door of the dressing room, he resolved not to take his frustrations of the experience on the hypnotist. It really wasn’t his fault.

A knock on the door and he was face to face with Xander. “Thanks for being a part of my show, Mr. Kent.” His soothing deep voice said as they shook hands while the manager excused himself and shut the door behind them. “It takes a big man to do something like this.”

A shiver of fear ran down his spine as their hands touched. Clark quickly suppressed it as he put on his best smile. “Anything to help enhance the show,” He said lightly wanting to make this meeting as short as possible.

A smile came over Xander’s face as he said, “Boy Scout.”

Clark felt himself plunge into darkness as his mind shut off. A feeling of deep relaxation suddenly came over him as he returned to the void.

Xander grinned as he looked at the helpless hero. That smile of pure evil frightened Clark but he was unable to resist. “I must admit that I was surprised to have Superman on stage with me,” The hypnotist said as he purred with delight. The connection that this man knew his greatest secret didn’t even register in his mind as he stared at nothing in the distance. His body was as stiff as a statue and the cloud in his mind was so thick that movement was impossible. “I think it is time for the next step of your treatment.”

The hypnotist stepped forward and slowly took the glasses from the stupefied hero. Alarms should have been ringing in his mind, but instead he just stood there. He felt a hand on his hair as Xander pulled down a curl to the middle of his forehead. “So it’s true. You really are Superman.”

In the distance that felt like a million miles away, a knock sounded in the middle of the void. A brief look of annoyance came over Xander’s face as he put Clark’s glasses back on his face. “You will return home tonight and go straight to bed. You will leave the door unlocked and will not wake up for anything.”

Unknown to Clark, the hypnotist had pulled out the reporter’s wallet and quickly scribbled down his address. A snap to the fingers, he felt himself pulled from the void and standing there shaking hands with no memory of what took place.

“I’m sorry to cut this short, Mr. Kent,” Xander said with the same smile that send shivers of fear down his spine. “Thank you for being part of my show. I hope our next meeting will be longer.”

Clark was relieved to be able to leave. He rushed from the dressing room with the same feeling of dread that had been plaguing him all night. If he could have seen the evil smile on Xander’s face, he would have reason to be even more afraid.
