It is disheartening to see brothers of the same mother killing each other just to prove that their brand showing allegiance to the Maker is the real deal. Queen Elizabeth is not considered the legitimate ruler as her mother's marriage to the King was annulled, making her an illegitimate child of King Henry VIII. The English Catholics feel that Mary is the legitimate heir to the throne. Elizabeth and her Protestant supporters devised devious plans to strengthen her position in the throne. There is a tussle to produce an heir and elevate each other's position to the realm.History, as it is dramatised, narrates the cascades of deceptions and counter-deceptions in the name of capturing the throne and ensuring the brand of religion takes charge.
Centuries after the above, it can be said that a certain amount of tolerance has come to stay. Unfortunately, many of our Muslim brothers and sisters are still finding for the thread to that bind all their fellow believers of the same God. Peace does not appear imminent as both parties are waiting for a direct divine decree to change things. No one is going to believe that the single most important gift by God to mankind, our intellect, can change things.
