Sun and Moon

A silence in my heart

sings the most beautiful silent sunset.

My grandmother Hermans gave me

my first watch when she had some money left.

It was a brown watch with green numbers

and I could watch time in the dark, if I was in time.

I remember, a moment was, I had to be prepared

to love more than time, than birds can become silent

not quiet without ever singing a new sound

in the morning, the afternoon or late afternoon.

Seconds passed my simple, small way, I was then able

to release Sun and Moon within my embracing hands.
