Boosting your word count

I'm off in FamilyHolidayLand, but on The Passive Voice I saw this is a really good post (via Passive Voice) by author Rachel Aaron about how she pumped up her word count and ultimately improved her writing by outlining what she was going to write before she wrote it. Clearly, I could not agree more.
