Summer's Rest

Summer's restMelody forever lingers on Even as I write this poem, my toes are tapping to unforgettable beatsThinking back to younger days, when I could twirl in a black dressOh, we all remember those tunes of rhythm and dances under colored lightsAnd, to hear Donna's voice was such a thrilling delightHeaven now knows it has another angel in the choir Sophisticated singer with a chocolate drizzled desire on waxTreat her right, for she worked hard for the moneyUnconditionally we loved Ms. SummerVocal violet with honey soaked chords of heavenly thunderIt was your voice that was a wonderGardenia placed beneath spotlight on center stageNever forgotten as the decades have turned the page and we've all agedSo, farewell to a talent which put our hearts and souls in a joyous tranceRest in peace, Donna Summer and I personally want to thank you for the grandest dance
