In my place

It was dark,

beautiful dark

in his eyes.

A smile looked my way.

You could say

it was love

it has something

to do with love.

I know

you’ve been reading

the lines of a poet,

a dreamer and a lover.

In my place

there are no lights

because the lights

do not go down,

they exist in your eyes.
