Chartres

ERA – Ameno

It was raining all day long, cold

and the fire was keeping us, too long

there in the inn without a place to sleep.

I was 19 and 19 men behind me

cycling to Chartres,

a way of 250.000 miles, ahead.

Close after, was a man of 59 years

and we were driving steady,

to lead for a higher purpose!

Chartres has been beating

in my hands and the grass

was wet & dry, for the night.

On top of the mountain, Spain

gave me hot chocolate milk

although I could not feel my eyes… .

It is good, to have a sight on Santiago

and the last 20 stones

were living in my pockets.

I am training the streets, again!
