The first week in February 1814, the Thames in London froze over and a great fair was held on the ice. It lasted several days, ending with a disastrous thaw with many merrymakers drowning. I wrote a novella set at the fair, titled appropriately Frost Fair (!) for a print anthology. It's now available in an ebook collection, My Dearest Valentine, along with two more seasonable stories: Wooing Mariana and A Maid at Your Window.
