I've heard of artificial intelligence (AI) software being used in business and sports reporting. A program generates a brief snippet of an article using stock quotes, final scores, or similar data. However, I was unaware that AI is expanding into full-fledged reporting journalism to provide human reporters with "rough drafts and story templates." There is the familiar reassurance that "it is not a threat to human employees. Rather, the idea is to allow journalists to spend more time on substantive work." I'm not convinced.
