For my lycan friends, Waxing is Useless
Waxing Is Useless
This good advice is given to my main character, Miranda by her mentor and new best friend, Sherryl. They are sitting in a fast food restaurant trying to regain their composure after a traumatic event, and both end up laughing like hyenas.
So why would waxing not work for a werewolf, you ask? Well, from all my research there are two things. 1) Werewolf metabolism & healing are super speedy. Think "Wolverine" but hairier. 2) During your average transformation fur sprouts where once there was nothing. Not even a follicle. That said, if a werewolf gal had just waxed her legs and undergone the transformation, the fur would sprout anyway, regardless. It's a miraculous physical change, so normal biological rules do not apply.
Sherryl then goes on to tell her pupil that only depilatory cream / gel can keep the hair off the legs more than a day or two. Here's my reasoning. Depilatories use chemicals to dissolve hair. Those chemicals would stay on or in the skin even after rinsing and act as a barrier to hair growth. At least for a while.
Okay, so I have no basis for this thought, really. It's just how my brain works. What do you think? Is waxing really useless for werewolves?
Let me know!
