Two Brats Playing House: Playdate's Over
Seventy-two days. Eighteen million dollars. A divorce. Really?
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries are already calling it quits. There is a lot of speculation as to why. I don't knew the truth behind this elaborate wedding followed by quick divorce, but I do know that it's a slap in the face of the institution of marriage. Don't get me wrong. I am not one who thinks that you can't have a long-lasting committed relationship without marriage. Sure, I'm married, but I know lots of folks who aren't and have great relationships. So, this is not about me and my strong belief in the sanctity of marriage.
But, if you are going to tie the knot, you should respect the institution you signed up for.
Some say that this was a publicity stunt or a money-making arrangement. The wedding cost about as much as the couple raked in due to their nuptials (check out this post) and I guess there's more to come what with the pending divorce.
Some say that with Kim's traveling schedule and Kris being laid off due to the NBA shut down this season, that the stress was too much for the young couple.
If the former were true, shame on these two making a mockery of love for financial gain. If the latter is true, these two are weak and immature. Real grown-ups test the waters a bit before getting hitched, and when things get tough (which they ALWAYS do), they don't just bail and move on. They work things out.
Regardless the reason, this just proves that Kris and Kim may be rich and famous, but they are still spoiled brats who either use everyone else to get what they want, or throw a tantrum when things don't go their way. Wish they hadn't wasted all of our time… Sorry Barry.
