When Sol’s father dies, leaving her family unable to fulfill their lumber quota for King Nøkkyn, her mother and brothers realize they have only one thing left to satisfy the king and keep their family from slavery. A fortnight later, Sol is promised to King Nøkkyn and sworn to become the newest member of his harem after the Reaping Ceremony.

When Sol meets a distractingly handsome stranger deep in the Ironwood Forest who claims to be the monstrous Fenris-wolf, she thinks he must be a madman, or a demon. Sol knows she should run. She shouldn’t trust him.

And she should not, under any circumstances, kiss him again…
