How to be wise

This is rather short notice, but tomorrow – on the 14th September – I'll be giving a talk at Leicester Library with the title How to be Wise. The event is between 2pm and 3pm (there's a link here), and there's no need to book in advance. I'll be talking a bit about what it might mean to say that philosophy is the 'love of wisdom' (or, as those naughtily louche French philosophers like to insist, the 'wisdom of love'), and perhaps I'll read a couple of short extracts from Finding Our Sea-Legs as well.

There are refreshments 'for a small charge' (because it would be unwise to expect that there might be any such thing as a free lunch – although the philosophy, of course, comes free of charge).
