Kitten Video 12-2-2018

We recently acquired a kitten from the local animal shelter. She's about 9 weeks old, and had one eye removed due to an injury. So of course her name is Freya, wife of Odin. (From all accounts, Freya was the ultimate party girl.) She's still settling in, isolated in my office. My daughter "The Kitten Whisperer" took this footage of me playing with her. This is the day after Freya arrived, so she's still a bit hand-shy. Since then she's become much more bold in initiating physical contact with her humans. Enjoy!

Freyja Conga-rats on the new baby! I once had a Freya myself. She was a loving cat. The link didn't work, so I went to your website and saw Freya playing there. She's a bouncy girl!

I got Achilles (named for one of Nimitz and Samantha's treekittens in the Honor Harrington novels) at the Clear the Shelters event in August. He's 7 mo. old now and growing like kudzu. Honor didn't take a shine to him, Nimitz slowly warmed to him, but my late MIL's Macavity decided he was a fine little boy, and Achilles glommed onto him, following him, bathing, and cuddling him. Mac's lymphoma has spread and we're in hospice mode with him, so Achilles is staying closer to him. Nimitz is helping comfort Mac and playing with the kitten to burn off the kitten energy.

Kitten endorphins make everyone happy! (Well, maybe not a dog here or there...) Lovely news about your Achilles. Also sorry about Mac's lymphoma. It's hard that our furry companions live such a short time. I know folks who have parrots and turtles, but I've never felt warm and fuzzy toward those critters. I prefer mammals! Animals do know when it's time for us to let them go. Cats seem to be as pragmatic about death as they are about life.

Let me know how it goes.
