Global Warming.

Trials and tribulations in life, there might be many, but it is strange that mankind has reached a pinnacle of technical capability and still there is a modern-day mass threat to human life.

Technically scientific knowledge has progressed and there is an ability to anticipate global catastrophes yet millions of the world’s inhabitants, if nothing is done about it, will suffer devastating consequences from global warming.

How is it possible that recently the news reported that millions of tones of ice will defrost and substantially rise the level of water throughout the world? This ice is in an area, that until now, was considered to be permanently part of the frozen ice caps. One would have thought that given an increase in scientific knowledge and capability, the safety of our environment would be enhanced and not in decline.

It is a united effort that is needed to achieve a common and important goal. Leaders of countries that are not supporting efforts to reduce carbon dioxide emissions are arguably exacerbating the problem of global warming. Nobody is impervious or immune to natural disasters and the consequences of a lack of action will be felt by everybody.

Terms of office might pass, generations could age and individuals negate the dangers of the future through a short-sighted gaze but in reality there is a lot to be lost by each person, whether they exist in the political arena or not.

It is up to the populations of every country to strongly stress the need for action and join the vast majority of people who are committed to properly and positively preserving the environment.

Who would imagine that in the twenty-first century leaders opposed to the issue of global warming could be fixated with trying to turn the clock back to outdated and ironically in the long-term expensive methods of producing energy. Actions causing economic conflict under the guise of national protection could only lead to a problematic future ahead. If one does not learn from history then it will surely repeat itself.

Economic war, hardship and military conflict does not have to happen. It is up to the people to protect their societies by ensuring that leaders properly understand this is not an issue for a minority but the majority and it is in the interest of everybody that the world remains a stable and productive environment for all of mankind.

At this time when many will be thinking of a new start and a beginning of a year yet to be, that it is imperative, on a small and large scale thoughts are turned to a more positive future. Possibilities are many and the desire is there but it is vital that politics is used as the vehicle for good that it is meant to be and alteration brings about an aid to a serious issue. If the influential policies of the future do realise and respond to a sensitive dilemma then a positive outlook can be restored.

May I take this opportunity to wish you and your nearest and dearest the most lovely Festive time. This Blog will be taking a short break but see you all again on January 7th 2019.
