Philcon 2011

I will be appearing at Philcon this coming weekend. For anyone who wants to see me there, here is my list of panels:

Sat 10:00 AM in Plaza II (Two) (1 hour)
ILLUSTRATED NOVELS FOR ADULTS (834)

Barring the front cover, almost no novels for adults have
illustrations nowadays.  But with an increasing number of YA novels
containing illustrations, is it commercially and/or artistically
viable for this to become the
   norm?

Sat 11:00 AM in Crystal Ballroom Three (1 hour)
CHASING THE NEXT BIG THING (838)

Do book and magazine editors create trends, or follow them?  And
   should they

Sat 12:00 PM in Plaza V (Five) (1 hour)
COMPUTER GAMES: MORE THAN JUST A PILE OF CORPSES! (762)

Modern video games have moved far beyond simple killing and
pillaging.  Many also strive to bring us engrossing stories, new
ideas, and even social commentary.  A discussion of the artistic and
   creative side of computer gaming

Sun 10:00 AM in Plaza IV (Four) (1 hour)
STEAM: IRONING OUT THE DETAILS (897)

What exactly makes a story "Steampunk"?  Is it just a matter of
slapping a few weird-science inventions on a Victorian setting, or
   is there more to it

I will also be MCing the Masquerade on Saturday evening.

Hope to see you all there.
