18 November, 2011: Getting the Writing Day Started

I call it writing foreplay. It also goes under the title of avoiding work. I usually begin the real work at least an hour after I get to my office. If the person who shares it with me is there, we talk skin care and stuff I can’t repeat in a blog entry.

People ask about my daily writing process all the time. This is today’s.

Checked my email. Found out two very lovely things about other people’s lives.

Checked twitter. Found out that Demi and Ashton are no longer following each other.

Watched a Pilates reformer video online to ascertain whether I’ll look any better doing reformer pilates (the plank position in my mat pilates class is distressing me but my pilates teacher told me I have a strong core)

Did the Chakra test on line (it popped up while I was watching the reformer video)

Answered the question in the Chakra test about whether I felt guilt daily and realized that I was feeling guilt doing a quiz rather than writing Quintana.

Checked IMDB and watched trailer for The Descendents and Burning Man. Also found out that it’s Martin Scorcese and Rachel McAdams birthday today. Also found out that Demi has filed for divorce.

Wrote this blog piece.

Dying to get back into the writing. Hope I feel the same way when I open the Quintana Part 2 document.

Beth You made my day! Thanks for making me laugh :)

Michelle Krys Haha! Sounds like my writing day, only it's Facebook and Perez Hilton and Goodreads and a few other blogs I follow in place of the pilates stuff.

Caroline Don't hesitate! Quintana is a great character - I can't wait to find out more about her. The books are gripping! So from a purely selfish point of view, as you feel the summer lethargy seeping into you - fight it.
