Release the Hounds! Er … Vampires!

Happy Release Day! No, it’s not a National holiday. It’s the day my new novel, The Vampire King’s Mate, releases. I’ve never been more excited for a release. Wait, that sounded kind of dirty. Get your mind out of the gutter, Deborah. Seriously, though, this is exciting. It’s my biggest release ev-ah! No, we’re not talking thousands of preorders and downloads. But I did have 8x as many preorders than I’ve ever had.

My Fate of Imperium Series is by far my best-selling. Yes, I’ve had thousands of downloads for my Working On It romantic comedy–but that book is free and under another name. So I don’t feel like it counts. It seems readers dig werewolves and vampires. I thought they might be getting kind of old. I thought wrong.

Book 1, The Wolf King’s Bride, released in September and has given me a good bump in sales compared to my books released under Cass Alexander. If you haven’t heard of Book 1, it can be found here, along with links to both released books. Technically, you don’t have to read them in order, though there is an overarching story line connecting all the books. Each novel is the story of a different kings and his fated mate.

With Book 2, in an attempt to boost preorders, I kept the preorder price at 99 cents. Since I have a Release Party on Facebook on Nov. 30, I’ve decided to keep that sale price through at least Dec. 1 (possibly Dec. 3–I have a crazy schedule this weekend). It seemed to have worked. I’ll shift the price to $2.99 in the next week and see how things shake out.

I don’t have much of a point with today’s post other than to shout to the Universe that my book is out. Oh, and it’s on sale, of course. I think I’ll try the low preorder price again when I release Book 3 in 2019. No, Deborah, it’s not finished yet. I have kids and they ruin everything … I mean, take up a lot of time.
