Being More Productive

"I'm just finishing up a little project but I'll come by later."

Sunday

I woke up at 8AM and should have immediately headed out on my bike for Lake Chabot to see if I'd run into Mark Landreth. However, I didn't. Instead I rolled over onto the other side of my Queen-sized bed. I did some laundry and played the role of a bum for most of the day. I was wearing my sweatshirt and sweatpants all day long.

I watched Barbara Taylor Bradford's novel based films called "A Woman of Substance" and "Hold the Dream". They were both excellent flicks. I was so 'into' them.

I did make an outing over to WALGREEN's with mom for a short while. She even made a point of reminding me of that when she signed my House Book.
Mom wrote:
Hi Mike,
…just came from WALGREEN's; going to SAFEWAY now on my way to the house.
Mom
PS-Mike, I'm not going to invite you to WALGREEN's with me anymore…that way my bill won't be so big.

I was supposed to pay a visit to Carla today. There was no answer at her phone at around 3PM. I had returned a call to her at 9:30PM but she was on the phone. When I tried calling again (10:50PM) I was finally able to speak with her.
"Oh Michael, I slept until four o'clock today!" Carla laughed.
"Well, now I don't feel so bad that I didn't come to visit!"
I ended up being more productive by just staying at home.

Johnny Schaefer called me in the afternoon and we spoke for a while about our latest goings on.
Johnny asked, "Did you get Jeff over to Concord?"
"Yeah, he ended up spending the night here on Friday. Then he made his own arrangements with Becky," I explained.
"Oh," Johnny said curiously.
"Jeff called me late Sunday night, so I guess he had a good weekend."
Johhny continued, "Well, I spent the night at my mom's house and I'm thinking of moving out from here."
When Johnny made this statement I got the impression that Johhny may feel that Jeff is trying to interfere with our friendship. I didn't feel that way. Jeff is a nice guy.

Johnny sent me a neat 911 song by Cindy Lauper with Pee Wee Herman taking over the last few words. That was great to hear. He also sent music from The Electrical Parade at DISNEYLAND and THE FIXX (to remind me of the Moody Blues concert when I went down there to visit).

I just realized that this journal book is almost 'shot'. It's time to start a new book.

I failed to speak to Mark Landreth all weekend. I wonder what he has been up to.

Love generated in the mind is doubtless more intelligent than true love, but it has only flashes of enthusiasm; it is too conscious of itself, it constantly appraises itself; far from scattering the thoughts, it is constructed by the power of thought alone.
