Can any one suggest a cool name for one of Ryan's past girlfriends?

I came up with "Eunice" but my publisher hated it. Taking suggestions! Leave replies!

Sue Bursztynski Why did you choose Eunice? And why did they hate it?

message 2: by Kelly (new)

Kelly How do you pronouce Eunice? Ee-nus?

message 3: by Naomi (new)

Naomi How about Gabriella, Zainab (Nigerian) Kedi, Judean, Leeza, Harmony, Tabitha, Elysa, Iona, Effimia (Greek) or Derdriu (Irish)? Hope that helps :)

S Ruth, Lilah (or Delilah), Evelyn (or Evie), Josephine, Lorraine, Geraldine (or Gerry or Geri), Audrey, Vivian, Maxine (or Max), Jessie, Mattie, Marguerite, Jeanette... Hmmm. Do you use Scrivener? They have a great name generator tool.

Rebecca Thanks for the list so far guys! Yes, why did I choose Eunice (pronounced You-nus), what was I thinking.

Got lots to go with here, thanks so much :)

Sue Bursztynski Why not choose a name that says something about the character? Of course, none of us know anything about the character. When I asked "why Eunice" I wasn't saying "what were you thinking?" but, really - why that name in particular? This might help me make a suggestion if you still want one.

Rebecca She's actually a "blink and you'll miss it" character but the name leapt out at them as being too "old fashioned" (that's me, Office 2000 stalwart). I'll play around with some of the names Naomi and Stacey threw out and see how it sounds. Thanks again to those who responded to my moment of major brain fade ...

Sue Bursztynski Rebecca - why not just find a baby name book or go on-line where there are plenty and pick a name you like? :-)

message 10: by Nicole (new)

Nicole How about Taylor, Lexi, Arrika, Aubonny, Nicole, Claire, Paige, or Samantha.

Rebecca I'm going to sit down and read some of these aloud with the text I'm working on. Read "Fury" to find out which name makes it in? And thanks again everyone who responded :)

message 12: by Nicole (new)

Nicole When is Fury suppose to come out? I have been looking all over online and can't find any information.

message 13: by Freya (new)

Freya What about Aaliyah or Kiara?

message 14: by Rebecca (new)

Rebecca Will try them out! Thanks guys :)

Hi Nicole, sorry about the delay in replying. "Fury" is supposed to be out for the UK and Commonwealth countries in march 2012 (although I am still madly editing it, so it could move ...). For the US it may be early 2013 so if you're desperate to see how it ends you might need to get hold of the English or Aussie version? Thanks for your query!

And BTW, went with "Edie", and thanks to Stacie for throwing an 'Evie' in there to get the synapses firing. need all the help I can get right now
