The Shipper

The world's biggest shipper uses AI to figure out what people are likely to order, even before they've decided to order it: https://www.npr.org/2018/11/21/660168325/optimized-prime-how-ai-and-anticipation-power-amazons-1-hour-deliveries

This prediction allows the company to move products around and place them so they'll be ready to go in the event of an actual order. But take this to its logical conclusion. How long before the company's AI can figure out you'll order, say, a blue t-shirt on Wednesday with a 90% certainty? Given this idea, the shipper could ship you the blue t-shirt BEFORE you order it and time things so the shirt arrives moments after you click the mouse. "Prophet (tm) will get you your order within minutes," they'll promise, "and if we make a mistake, simply refuse the package and we'll take it back for free. You won't be charged until you accept the delivery!" And it'll happen faster than any of us think.
