I once chatted with Stan Lee for a half hour at a Disney party at #SDCC when I was just starting out. We were surrounded by celebrities, but for some reason he took the time to talk to me and treat me like I was the only person in the room. He asked what I did, I told him I was a writer and admitted that I had doubts about freelancing. He said, “Don’t do it for the money, do what you love and the money will find you.” For a half hour this comic legend gave me a pep talk and told me I could do it. We’ve lost a National Treasure.
