The above photo is taken from my front porch on a November morning. The dawn had cast a fiery copper light onto the trees across the frozen lake. So far this year the lake is still liquid and blue but who knows when the skim of ice will begin to move over the surface and become like glass?

Reminds me of when I lived in New England. I will be cooking at Thanksgiving, but celebrating with my husband's family on Saturday. Next year is my turn to cook for his family.
I love the picture. It was 28 degrees this morning in Washington. We have our fireplace going to keep warm. For Thanksgiving we have one son still living at home and so my husband cooks the ham and I do all the fixings. We also tend o go to the movies or rent a movie for relaxing.
