Life truly side swiped me this time

There's no way to sugar coat this people, I won't be publishing any more books this year. Yes. Yes. I can hear your teeth gnashing and wails of despair. Trust me, I share your frustration.
But bear with me and all will become clear.
I may have mentioned some mid year travel plans. Well all was going swimmingly. Atlanta. Mexico. Lots of family time. Next stop the UK to spend some quality time with my sister.
She picked me up from the airport and we spent two marvellous days in Wales. Unfortunately on the drive back to her place we were involved in a rather nasty accident. T-boned by an out of control elderly driver.
My side of the car took the brunt of the impact and after being cut free and helicoptered to the nearest hospital I subsequently spent the next 2 weeks in ICU having way too many operations. Followed by a further 10 weeks recovering in hospital.
My first set of steps took place a mere 3 weeks ago...and boy were they shaky.
Today I am out of hospital, working on my mobility with the help of a Zimmer frame. With the view to eventually walking on my own once more.
I won't lie, there will be health challenges ahead for me along with further operations.
I can only cross my fingers and hope that eventually I will be pain-free and be able to resume my old life.
In the meantime I will remain in the UK, spending recovery time and Xmas with my family before travelling home to Australia.

As for my writing. I think you will understand when I say I am done for this year. But fear not. I've had a lot of spare time to think over the past few months and next year promises to be a lot of fun. Stephanie (Brodie's Valkeryie boss) has been featuring in my thoughts.
I'll keep you posted on any new developments.

Happy Reading gorgeous people. Be kind to yourself, you deserve it.

K. I am so glad to hear that you are ok!!! I'd rather you concentrate on getting better than being in pain trying to write another novel. And I'm sure your other fans feel the same way. We love your books and the characters you've introduced us to. We can always revisit the Sanctuary by re-reading one of your novels. Wishing you happy thoughts and a speedy recovery!

Jane Cousins Thanks for the kind thoughts. So happy to hear you enjoy the series enough to re-read it. Pay attention to Vex a Valkyrie, pretty sure I left some clues regarding Stephanie's story. You know what a dreadful tease I can be.

I will def be re-reading them again then!

Treena Ohmigosh! So glad to hear that you're okay! Like Kimberly said, your health is way more important. We love you! Sending you lots of good, healing vibes and happy thoughts!

Elizabeth So happy to read that you survived and that you're getting better. Physical and mental recovery always seems to be one step forward and two back but keep persevering. Sending you lots of positive thoughts, healing vibes etc.

As a fan I'd rather have you well and not stressing over the books. The Sanctuary characters will hopefully not act up too much in your absence, just threaten them with Darcy. This also gives Copper more time to torment Elijah.

Looking forward to a story about Stephanie, she's quite a character.

Leidy I am happy to hear that you are recovering. I was getting worried since I have been cyberstalking you since August with no news from you. As a fan of the books I may be a little dissatisfied with the wait but is a shadow in comparison to the relief that you are doing better and we will get to read more once you recover.

Will be sending lots of positive thoughts while you concentrate on getting better. Take your time so you heal well, your fans will wait however long it takes.

Jane Cousins Thanks Treena, Elizabeth and Leidy for your support. Every day I'm getting a little bit stronger, though continue to face daily challenges. Stairs! Honestly, who thought they were a good idea?

Allison So sorry this happened to you! Unfortunately life sometimes makes us slow down; concentrate on your health right now. We can wait!

Christine I'm so sorry to hear about your accident and painful recovery! It is so scary how quickly life can change in the blink of an eye! Thank you so much for letting us know how you are doing. I have no problem rereading all the wonderful stories you have blessed us with! May your recovery be less painful and more productive with each day that passes!

Dianne Mawson Jane - bloody hell, that all sounds truly awful. I just finished writing a message to post to you and was searching the web and found your blog accidentally - and this dreadful news. I am so sorry to hear about the accident. I had envisaged a holiday romance or kidnapping by Mexican drug lords was keeping you from the Collingwood pool. Please contact me at diannemawson@gmail.com if I can help in any way upon your return. Happy to do taxi runs to physio etc...shopping. I am so pleased you have pulled through and you sound positive but its everyones worst nightmare. Stay strong.
Dianne

Cate I just to check your blog to see when you were going to release your next book and saw that this had happened. I am so sorry that you had to go through this and am happy to hear that you are okay. By now you must be well on the way to recovery. Look after yourself and take your time.
One of the things I love about your books is how they are so much fun to reread. Can't say that about many series. Hope you have a Happy holiday season.
