Nanowrimo Day 14:

Yesterday was another whiff, but I think I needed it, because I woke up this morning without an aching neck for once.  Yay!

As soon as we've moved into our new place, I'm setting the computer up at a real writing desk, not just this thrown-together Frankenstein's monster we've put together in the dungeon as-is.  I know, I know, it was my idea, but not all my "let's make do" plans lead to glory.

Anyway, so far so good, today.  There's nothing wrong with a little "Oh, no, I'm behind bigtime in Nano" guilt to get one moving.

Notable Nanos:

"What exactly was your plan, anyway?  You'd just waltz into..wherever we are…and we'd walk out together hand-in-hand?"  His face turned bright red.  That was exactly what he'd thought.  What an idiot.
His beefy hands held the boy by the back of his shirt.  Looping a finger down beneath the yoke of his tee shirt, he pulled out a tiny silver chain.  "Slave," Harlow said.
"Time flies when you're sold into slavery for an evil Troll overlord," I said.
A few moments later, we were pushing aside our food to make way for Dave's leg of goat.  Still hooved and with the pelt intact, Dave picked up the bloody limb and tore off a huge bite with his tusks.  "Not baaaaaaaad," he said.

"Two Croaks, please."

"Want me to open them for you?" she asked.

"Sure," Harlow said.

She opened the bottles and the usual tiny fog of carbonation rolled out, followed by loud croaking sound, like a bullfrog.

Dolly laughed. "Never gets old. Enjoy, kids."

In other good news, I learned today that bobcats are back in Indiana.  For a moment or two, I thought a mountain lion had showed up at Patoka Lake to interfere with Harlow's flashback story, but as it turns out, it was a bobcat, just like this one spotted at Camp Atterbury:
