Final Edits: Faking It

I just received my final round of edits for Faking It. And they didn’t make me cry. That’s a huge stepping stone. There were a few nit-picky items I needed to address.

Apparently I used the word Right 134 times. My editor was kind enough to point this out to me. LOL. Why is it when I focus on not using certain words, other words slip in to take their place. I try not to use: a bit, very, and almost. I’ll have to add right to the no-no list.

What words do you notice when an author repeats them? Is there a phrase or description that becomes annoying? Let me know and I’ll try to avoid them.

Lynn Cahoon Apparently from my last set of edits I used coffee about 133 times. I'm okay with that. :)

Chris Cannon LOL...I've never counted the times I used coffee.

I didn't. My copyeditor did. I don't think she understood the term, cozy. :)
