This is me on a warm spring day of May 2012. ✨ I had just graduated with my Bachelor’s Degree in English from the University of Georgia. I’m standing in front of Park Hall, home of the English Department, a building full of books and stories and paper and poetry. I look back on this picture and remember all the aspirations and hope and even worries I had at that time. What comes next? ✨And if you had told me then that 6 years later I’d be returning as a guest speaker and published author, I wouldn’t have believed you. But dreams have ways of growing, slow and steady, when you are brave. ✨ Next Tuesday, I’ll be speaking at UGA in Park Hall about my journey to publication. I’m humbled and beyond honored that the Undergraduate English Association and Creative Writing Program are hosting me, and this event is free and open to all UGA students and staff. You can find me there Tuesday November 6 at 5:00 PM in Park Hall (200 Baldwin Street, Athens, GA) in Room 265. ✨ And even if you can’t attend (I know most of you are not at UGA and live all over the globe), I hope this post encourages you to keep dreaming, to keep pursuing what sets your soul on fire. ✨ (at University of Georgia)
