The orbs remind me of little Tinkerbell fairies. Those are coming up in a chapter or two. I remember that.
Nanowrimo Day 12:
Executive decision: The Character Formerly Known as Christie Shall Now Be Referred to as Gennifer. Find & Replace yielded 85 results.
Yesterday I started the day off with breakfast with friends, and ended up not Nanoing at all. I also never made it onto my computer, but worked from a variety of devices upstairs on other projects. I wasn't as successful as I'd have liked, but I did get to redraw my Snowflake and update my original character notes, so I'm more clear on where the story is going.
Then, today, I got up early despite it being Saturday, and Tim and I got the baby snuggled up in blankies, and proceeded to try and wake ourselves up enough to write cogently.
Before we could even wipe all the sleep from our eyes, my 8 y.o., full of mirth and joy, bounded down the steps and screamed "Good morning!" waking up the baby and pretty much derailing Tim's Nanoing for the past hour.
I know it's selfish of me, and very single-minded, but I will keep writing no matter what the distraction, unless it's blood or fire. Tim handled the diapers and the kids while I got through about 850 words.
It's not much, but I wrote it. And now I need to make nice with everyone I've been ignoring, and encourage him to stop fiddling around online looking for our iPhones in transit, and to WRITE.
