I picked up Short History on a whim and have been a big fan ever since. Went to meet you once on a book tour. Such socializing is well beyond my usual limitations. You didnt seem all that happy to be there either so I felt a bit better about being there. Just picked up Edgeworth. Frankly I was concerned that you might have moved past your prime. Silly me. You're still hot as the proverbial $2 pistol. Keep up the good work. Friends of mine at Turnrow Books told me about Rick Gavin and I have been duly impressed with his work too. Best to you.
Hi Jeff,Thanks for the support through the years, and I appreciate your good opinion. Sorry if I was prickly on book tour. That doesn't sound like me. I'm usually prickly just the rest of the time.
Happy Reading.
I just ordered it. I hope the deplorables get their just due! Since it doesn't seem as though there is much justice in the real world these days, I have to look for it in fiction! (Plus, I can always count on you to provide some much needed humor!!)
Another devoted fan since A Short History! I finished Eaglesworth a month ago and enjoyed every minute of it. I am looking forward to Brigade -- it sounds like exactly what I need right now.
Hi Paulette and Meredith. Thanks very much for the kind words and the support. Deplorables always get what's coming to them . . .eventually (don't they?).
Hi T.R.,Enjoyed Brigade a LOT. Thanks for writing it!
You might already know this, but Goodreads has the book filed under the author "TR Pearson" TR Pearson).
Best regards,
R.L.
Thanks, RL. I'm especially pleased to hear you enjoyed this novel because I had a hell of a time getting it into shape, and wasn't even sure I had. Yes, I'm trying to get the book moved onto my list. TR, T.R. who cares? (Goodreads does, Amazon doesn't, but aren't they both . . .?)
I'm many generations southern and no other writer's dialogue makes me feel simultaneously warm with nostalgia and intensely embarrassed the way T.R. Pearson's does. That's meant to be a complement.Since finding 'Short History' shortly after is was published, I've never passed up a Pearson book in a bookstore. Now in modern times, I never pass up a pre-order or a download. Currently reading this one, I'm only a few pages in and thoroughly absorbed.
The release date for 'Serpent of Old' is my birthday and I can't think of a better gift.
Hi Booe,I'm a little warm, nostalgic, and embarrassed myself. Thank you. And I'm pleased to have written a birthday book. I'm just now finishing up the editing and am delighted to say that this new one has turned out very well (I never quite know until I read them).
Thanks for checking in. Happy reading and happy early birthday.
Thanks for checking in (I will call you "many consonants"), and I'm pleased to hear you've enjoyed (are enjoying) both of those very different novels. Happy reading.
Hi Col,Thanks very much for the link. I've been allowed into some very good company. I'm sure I would never have seen this without you.
