Juicy Fruit, a playlist by Bluee GhostGhost on Spotify:

Chapter 10 of Juicy Fruit is up on Patreon and I’m celebrating with this playlist. I’ve gone with a more is more philosophy on this one haha. My biggest sadness is there are no Plugz on Spotify so El Clavo Y La Cruz is a Plugz cover. Here’s the original from 1982. The Plugz really represent a vibrant Latino punk sound that was developing in the late 70s/80s in LA. I think it’s one of the many pieces of the puzzle that results in an album like the Pixies’ Surfer Rosa in 1988.

I also want to point out KMFDM’s song Cuntboy that was originally recorded in 1984 and is kinda pure genus with its lethargic reggae back beat and industrial synth sound. It was originally a limited cassette tape distributed in the German club scene and I was able to find it on the internet many years ago and now  surprise surprise it’s on spotify. KMFDM is featured heavily on the soundtrack of The Living End, one of my favorite films and a huge influence on this story.

My other sadness is the lack of the Violent Femmes song Johnny which you can listen to HERE
