Two new releases

Hi, Dee Henderson Readers! I’m pleased to announce two new titles are now available IMMORTALITY and the novella collection THE COST OF BETRAYAL.

I love weaving together mystery, romance, scripture, and people’s lives with God.  That’s been the typical story mix, in various degrees, for all my books. I changed that up last year with the release of combat medic Connie August’s story in An Unfinished Death and the companion non-fiction book Healing is By Grace Alone. (More about Connie later in this note).

I’m doing something slightly different again this year. I’m releasing a book called IMMORTALITY which is a soft romance but not a romantic suspense. Emily and Noah are fascinating people who meet and get to know each other over the course of a summer. They talk about God and Emily’s questions about Him. It’s a different story than most I have written yet perfect in its own way. I liked being asked to think about God. Reader alert: I’m filling in the calendar for Jim Bishop with this book as a backdrop for where the interweaving characters in my stories are flowing, but this is not Jim’s story. This book, like last year’s title, also has more scriptures and conversations about God than most I have written.

To answer why the change in story types these last two years, it’s a pretty simple answer. There are books developing in my notes which deserve to be written and when the time seems to suit, I’ll pause and write one of them. I call these latest two books theology fiction, for at the core they are non-fiction titles exploring who God is and what a Christian learns about God over their lifetime. In the mix of 23 lighter ‘summer’ reads there are now 2 deeper reads which will call for more thinking and be suitable to a snowy winter day. When I think about writing as a profession over twenty years, that’s a useful mix to have available to readers.

From last year’s release note -
For many years I’ve been thinking about Connie August. She’s a combat medic. Her story, however, never really fit in with the military books I was writing, nor with the romantic suspense. She doesn’t have a romance story to share with readers about a guy. Connie’s story is about a romance with God — she is passionately in love with him. And she’s seen things on the battlefield similar to the miracles in scripture. So her story required something different of me. AN UNFINISHED DEATH is not a romantic suspense. Ryan and Connie are already dating other people. This story also contains more scripture and conversations about scripture than most stories I have written. I wanted to present Connie August in an authentic way, true to who she is.

Healing doesn’t come to us by our works. Healing is by grace alone. It is a gift from Jesus. That statement likely resonated with you in one of four ways, as: true, false, incomplete, or as something you’ve not heard before. For that reason, for the first time in my career, I’m releasing a non-fiction work along with a story.  HEALING IS BY GRACE ALONE is a look at what the bible says about healing at a depth you may never have heard before. I encourage you to share Healing is by Grace Alone with friends and family who prefer non-fiction. For those who love a good story, the novel An Unfinished Death, presents the subject matter in action.

A special note for my long time readers: Many of you have asked to learn the rest of Jennifer’s husband Tom’s story from the O’Malley Series. I’ve always known his story, but I’ve never had a place to tell it before. So in a very brief but poignant moment in An Unfinished Death (lasting only a couple pages), I’m also presenting the rest of Tom’s story in his own words.

I would love to hear what you think about these stories. Visit www.deehenderson.com for more details.

Vanessa I am going to get these new books. Just lately been re-reading some of your Christian Romance. Keep on writing and helping us readers learn more about God and how to be in love with him.

Mel Shorter Wow. I haven't read any of her books yet but the very fact that she took the time to write to her readers is amazing. I've never seen that done before. Thank you Mrs. Dee I'm about to pick up one of your books now; probably An Unfinished Death or The Negotiator.

Sherry She is one of my all time favorite writers. I just finished reading Missing. I would love another story with those characters revealing how their relationship progresses. Will definitely be looking for the books mentioned in this post.
