Auditions are Being Held for You to be Yourself. Apply Within
Do you ever feel like you aren’t living life as the true you, as if you’re wearing different masks just to survive? There’s been much written about being authentic, but, the unfortunate thing is that most people have gotten so lost in the roles they play in life that they don’t know:
Who they are without playing a role
How to divest themselves of those roles to discover their Core Identity
Once discovered, how to use their Core Identity to bring about happiness and satisfaction they haven’t experienced for years
There are many ways people have used to try to “find themselves”. There are multi-weekend workshops that are intended to strip a person down to their core and rebuild them. There are the multi-day workshops people attend in masses where a “guru” pumps them up through intense words, emotions, behaviors, and music. There are coaches who use artful questions to cause their clients to ponder themselves and the universe around them. Some people go to exotic places to meditate for months. These methods are not usually sustainable and the initial effects dissipate in the matter of a few days to a week, or so. Yet, others use drugs, like ayahuasca, to discover themselves and create change.
All but the last method have a common challenge; They don’t get past the part of the human mind that does everything it can to keep things the same. Yes, there is a specific part of the brain that works to keep you from changing. Rebecca Saxe at MIT has done extensive research on the subject of Theory of Mind (ToM). The aforementioned methods cannot breach the barrier to change.
Virginia Satir, famed family psychologist, once said, “Most
people think the will to survive is the strongest instinct in human beings, but
it isn’t. The strongest instinct is to
keep things familiar [the same].”
This is true even if we are dissatisfied with our life because many
people feel that they’ve learned to deal with the problems they have and change
might introduce problems they aren’t prepared to deal with.
The last method, ayahuasca, has its own challenges. These include LSD-type experiences, the need
for a “guide” in the event of a bad “trip”, the drug is
illegal in some countries, and many people choose not to experiment with
mind-altering drugs out of religious, or other, beliefs.
An Alternative
Having been a Senior Pastor, mentor, COO, VP Sales, and an NLP
Master Practitioner, I have created an alternative to finding your Core
Identity that is quick, circumvents the part of the brain that rejects change,
has no ill-effects, and is sustainable.
And, because of my experience and background, I understand the
challenges of business executives and salespeople so I can maximize their
results.
Interestingly, one of the top gurus who does the multi-day
events uses a very similar method when working with his one-on-one clients. For this service, he reportedly charges up to
a million dollars per year and takes a profit share in their company.
Beyond that, my experience in working with people in churches and business has shown me that not knowing their Core Identity and living in roles is exacerbated by the stress they experience. I have seen people change dramatically when the stress they’ve been under is released. In fact, the exercise I take people through to discover their Core Identity is always preceded by releasing of stress so the true person can come out. Just imagine having stress you’ve carried around for years released so that you feel relaxed, comfortable, confident and allows you to become the real. What would that be like? None of the other methods mentioned above have the ability to do this.

you, just email me at ed@trans-think.com and we’ll set a time to chat. I’ll leave you with another important quote:
“The worst thing I can imagine is coming to the end of my life and realizing I had lived someone else’s dream.” That “someone else” can very well be the mask you’ve been wearing for all those years.
