My Week in Review and Writing Links

[image error]Hello everyone. Another week is done. I hope those of you who had a three-day weekend last week enjoyed it. It’s been another full and fun-packed week here. We had a large window removed from the lounge wall and got it bricked up. Then it was rendered outside and plastered inside. It’s south facing, so in the summer acted like an oven, and in the winter it whistled and howled in the wind, so loud we couldn’t hear the TV, lol. It meant no lounge for a week, but now we’re all back to normal. It just needs to dry out and get painted. No mishaps on this one! …

The window wasn’t as big as the plastered area; it needed feathering in to the original wall, lols.

After Mae Clair’s post on Monday on Story Empire about copyrighting your work and registering that copyright, I looked into it for myself. While I always place a copyright on my work, I hadn’t thought of registering the book files for proof in case of future dispute. I found a company in the UK and paid a one-off fee of £59 for lifetime and unlimited book registrations with them. It was as easy as anything to get my ten books uploaded and registered, and I now have certificates for them all. I also have a badge for my site, which may or may not deter the poachers. So, a huge thanks for the heads-up, Mae.

Not related to Mae’s advice at all, lols!, the quote this week resonated with me, and I thought the image of the wolf howling at the gargoyle quite fitting for the words. While we have rules and styles and all the rest, author voice is important for a reason, and not all advice is good advice.

Well, that’s it from me for this week. Have a great weekend, everyone
