WILL LGBT WIN SOCIALLY?
Well, Well, Well --- a big win for all who had been discriminated for being GAY!!
A word that had ruined their individuality, their lives, thinking, feelings and everything they, their selves, are not responsible for.
We all know this phrase that GOD MADE EVERYONE EQUAL!!
But how many human beings follow his law?
I think a few or else i affirmatively say "ONLY A FEW"!
Now, the question is why I think that way?
There are thousands and thousands of crimes, reported, unreported, known-unknown, in this world,
And there are many laws also made to stop these crimes. People who suffered, raised and are still raising their voices against what is inhuman and for justice.
Thanks to our modern judiciary, many have got justice, like LGBT had won today after a long struggle since British rule, & before that also.
A verdict given by chief justice of India, Dipak Mishra and his five judges panel that even gay/homosexual can live with respect and dignity. With all the fundamental rights, other citizens of India enjoy.
This definitely confirms that Indian Judiciary is not biased.
Thus, LGBT community is celebrating their victory. Good!!
BUT WHAT IF THE SOCIETY DOESN'T ACCEPT THEM EVEN AFTER THE VERDICT?
WHAT IF NO ONE IS BEING WATCHED WHILE COMMITTING A CRIME OF DISRESPECTING HOMOSEXUALS?
WHAT IF LAW GETS MOLDED AS PER ONE’S POWER AND POCKET?
Making a law is easy but enforcing it is the most difficult part!!!
Basically, when it comes to social norms, no one can keep eye on what happens, with whom, when, where, and how.
We live in a country of over 40k different kind of cultures, castes, creed etc. With so much diversity, it's very much difficult with a supervision of a few law enforcers. A few policemen against second largest populated country in the world.
Where people follow Babaji/Guruji culture more than they give tax…haha!
Where an eggitarian (who eats only eggs) is a vegetarian and a non-vegetarians are inhuman…haha!
Where deforestation is not the reason for Kerala Floods but Sacrificing Cows in that region…haha!
Where Rape is not a crime as men will be men but this slogan ---- WOMEN EMPOWERMENT…haha!
It sounds more sarcastic then, when where women don't feel safe in daylight and where girl child is being raped killed so brutally even after the law has be made as death sentence for the rapist who rapes under 12, and still girl under age 12 are being raped and murdered. The percentage of rapes per day have risen from 6 to 14. Where girls/women walking on roads, working in offices, playing in streets, studying in schools or even in living in ashrams/orphanages are not safe at all. In that kind of country, even if this law of EQUALITY FOR LGBT has been passed----
Will our society, with all those old thinking, rules and regulations and with filthy mentality,
ACCEPT AND FOLLOW????
Laws are written and enforced on papers, by a few who bestow the power of justifying and setting marks for the betterment of society.
BUT WILL THAT MAKE CHANGES TO THE MENTALITY??
If one out of ten is homosexual, then who can take the guarantee of his safety from the other nine?
I mean
"EVERYONE DOESN'T THINK ALIKE!"
OR
"WHO DAMN FOLLOWS THE LAW?"
If there are ten laws made daily, then there are a hundred ways to break it, without being caught!!
If after being raped and being justified by our judiciary, many women (Not Talking About Men Here, Specifically), think that it was NIRBHAYA's fault that she was wandering with a guy alone at night and that too, in Delhi, the most unsafe city for women, then how can one think that a verdict can change that long deep-rooted thinking for homosexuals in a day?
May be it is a WIN on papers but still, REALITY BITES, a long battle awaits!!
