365 Questions for a Better Me, August edition.

I am such a slacker, I totally forgot to post for July so I’m skipping July and moving straight to August (on the last day of the month). Of course, this isn’t my idea. I found the fabulous idea over at debbieinshape.com and you too can participate if you’d like! Obviously, there aren’t 365 questions in this post but by the end of the year, there will be.

So, on with the August questions!

What do you do when your plan fails? Make a new plan. I’m one of those take things as they come at me kind of people. I hate making plans because when they go awry it’s easier to start new than redo a whole list of an itinerary. I’m a fly by the seat of my pants kind of girl in life and in writing.

Do you change your mind easily? No. I actually do a ton of research before I make any decision no matter what it is. So, if something strikes my fancy you better believe I know every detail and fact about whatever I’m deciding on including purchases or beliefs.

If you could spend quality time with someone special, who would this person be? I live a long way from both my BFF’s and I’ve got friends all over the country from moving around so often. I’d love to hang out with them all because I miss them so much!

What do you believe you deserve in life? Everything. I think if I can dream it, I deserve it. If I work my ass off, I might even earn it.

How important is it to have dinner with your family? Eh… I know this is a big thing but I’ve never been dedicated to it and yet my family is still close enough that we tell each other everything. If it’s something you love, awesome. For me, the woman who rarely cooks, it’s not important unless it’s a holiday.

Where do you want to be by this time next year? I’d like to be on my way to becoming an author people have actually heard of. I’d love to have the film rights for my books sell (I’ve had an offer… but a no go on my side). Now I’m just waiting on the right offer. (Email me!!) I just really want to excel in my writing career because it’s truly my passion.

How do you define love? I think love is subjective just like everything else in life. Everyone is so different that love will never look the same for two different people. For me, love is when you know you can count on someone to have your back in both good and bad situations. Someone who sees me for who I am and doesn’t waiver. Someone who can deal with my filthy mouth and not judge me.

How do you spend most of the day: sitting or standing? I’m a writer, I’m pretty much sitting most of my days. Unless I’m cleaning. Or shopping.

How do you deal with compliments? My husband says not well. I can’t say I’m complimented a lot but when I am it’s weird. I’m thankful but it’s definitely weird. I don’t like the attention on me. I don’t love to talk about myself. It’s something I probably need to work on.

What used to make you happy when you were a kid? Summers, the sun, and music. My grandparents had a pool so I spent most of my time with headphones in lying in the sun. I was the kid with headphones on constantly. I didn’t grow up to be any different either.

What makes you sad? The state of America. For real. We need a change.

Is there anything that causes you to stress on a regular basis? Money! I might have a book published but I’m far from rich. We live in a rough world and money doesn’t always come easily. We run our own seasonal business so winters (LONG Montana winters) are rough for us.

If you had more free time, what would you do? If I had more time and money I’d definitely travel.

What was the last TV program you watched? CNN. I’m a news junkie. Facts matter.

Pizza or popcorn? I’m on a diet so right now I’d choose popcorn because it’s low in calories (unless it’s movie theater popcorn, mmmm so good.). Down 22 pounds!

What are your plans for your next vacation? Vacation? I don’t know this word.
