One Year On Medium

Well, I’ve been a member of Medium for one year. I joined in August 2017 and started actively posting stuff in September. It’s been a mixed ride, but mostly positive.

Since I’ve been here Medium has gotten a new look (good), started the Partner’s Program (really good), and apparently shifted their focus away from average Joe and Josephine writer and publication owners to their own in house publication and big name media (very bad for the writers who rightly feel they are backbone of Medium).

My Personal Highlights

1. I started with 40 followers, mostly from Facebook, and have seen my numbers steadily grow to 1.5k followers as of yesterday.

2. I have become a writer for 20 publications, most of which I publish with regularly. Some of the main ones are listed here.

And a special mention for two publications that recently added me as a writer.

RedoubtableOther Doors

Thanks so much guys for accepting my work.

3. I was also asked to write for Chronicle, a very cool literary journal that specializes in short works that can be read easily and quickly.

4. Most important though, is the fantastic community of writers I have met here on Medium. Writing is a lonely business as they say, but throwing my work out into the universe on Medium with all the other wonderful writers here doing the same makes it feel a little less so.
