Interview with my Kirktan Teacher; Nikki Slade on Panda Radio
If you’ve been to one of my events or are part of the Rise Sister Rise Sisterhood you will know how much I adore chanting and love my harmonium! I was introduced to Chanting through connecting with my Kirtan Teacher; Nikki Slade who really helped me step into sharing my souls voice and allow myself to be truly seen and heard which has been one of my BIGGEST fears!
I really do believe that we all have a beautiful note to play in order to orchestrate the perfect symphony. We do this by sharing our souls voice. As Sera Beak beautifully puts it; ‘the world needs your unique tone in order to harmonize.’ When you share your voice you unlock something in the Universe and call a missing piece of you home. Our individual voice is the most powerful sound current on the planet. If you have kept your soul’s voice silenced or held back, chanting could be truly life changing for you. As we chant we don’t just heal ourselves, we also chant for all those who do not have a voice and the healing of all. In John (1:1) it says that ‘sound or vibration is the most powerful force in the Universe.’ I couldn’t agree more!
By being personally moved through Chanting and Graduating in my Bhakti Kirtan Teacher Training I was honoured to be interviewed by my dear friend; Nikki Slade and Producer Gerry Edwards on Panda Radio where we spoke about the power of the voice, rock bottoms, the awakening process, the fear of sharing your voice and I shared 4 of my all time favourite songs! Who doesn’t love a good song to dance too! I also sang one of my original chants to connect with the Goddess Oshun; who is the Mother of the sweet waters and all children.

I had the best time on Panda Radio and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! Click here to listen.
If you feel called to Chanting and Kirtan Training you can find more information on Nikki’s website here.
It’s time to clear the chimney of your soul so those around you can hear the music you came to share. Let the sharing of your voice be your own medicine.
