Surge is the tenth in the Horton series of currently 13, soon to be 14

in August against the backdrop of the sea in Portsmouth and the Isle of
Wight. A telephone call from a frantic Sergeant Cantelli to say that
his nephew, Johnnie Oslow, is missing cuts short DI Horton’s sailing
trip to France. What began as the hunt for a missing man soon becomes
the search for a ruthless killer...





This is an extract from when Horton views the charred remains of a
body in the old ruins of the Hilsea Lines in Portsmouth, an ancient
monument, which is now a popular walking spot including woodland,
meadows and fresh brackish lakes.
