The Northwest coast is littered with old shipwrecks. This is one off Formby that I photographed from a good distance, with a superzoom camera, a while ago.
I am not certain but I 'think' this is the ghostly remains of the Iconic Star.
If it is indeed the Iconic Star, this ship went down in October 1939.
The ship sank close to the end of its journey from Rio de Janeiro to Liverpool. It usually can only at seen at extreme low tide.
When the water ebbs away one can see this ghostly shipw...
