...(I think the Irish one was the "Blueshirts," which did manage to send a few recruits off to Spain to fight on the Nationalist side.) Imperial expansion was (initially, to a viewer not looking for deeper economic and military considerations) was plausible for countries of the size and location of Germany and Italy, but not for the small countries. So I doubt the Fascist movements of countries like Ireland had imperial expansion as a goal or aspiration. So maybe, if we were seeking a definition grasping the "essence" of Fascism, we shouldn't include that as an essential part...
