The IMF is back in action. Ethan Hunt is haunted by his previous unsuccessful marriage while he embarks on a new mission: to find plutonium stolen from Russian. If it falls into the hands of John Lark, millions if not billions of people will die in order for the rest to rise. Hunt has arranged to buy the plutonium from an anonymous seller, only to find that other unsavory characters know of the transaction and steal it first. This group is led by the White Widow and she is in Paris preparing to meet Lark. Trouble is no one knows what or who Lark is. Hunt fills in for him and negotiates the deal. Only the White Widow wants more.
Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt, brash, dedicated, and loyal. His team of Benjy, played by Simon Pegg and Luther, Ving Rhames are joined by Elsa, Rebecca Ferguson, who is tried to get back into MI-6. Henry Cavill does a very good job as well. The only problem I had with casting was that Ethan’s wife and Elsa looked very similar.
I could hardly believe all the action in this movie. Lots of running, car chases, helicopter chases, and close calls everywhere. Kept my heart thumping. The storyline was good and I liked the return to some of the original IMF stunts.
