Open Minds (Mindjack: Kira Book 1) by Susan Kaye Quinn

This book follows a girl called Kira on a journey of discovery. In a world were everybody can hear each others thoughts, Kira finds that she hasn’t developed this, making her a zero. Then something strange happens and she finds that she isn’t a zero, but also, she is still not like everyone else. She is different. She is a Mindjacker.

I really enjoyed this book. It had a good storyline and the plot moved nicely.

I liked Kira. She starts of quite naive and stuck in her own world. She s under Simon’s charm easily which soon gets her in a bit of a sticky situation. How she treats Raf, her best friend becomes frustrating until the end. By the end, Kira becomes a strong independent women.

I felt that although the storyline generally moved at a nice pace with a good amount of action, however, there were times when it slowed and needed more push. The ending was rather adrupt that you have no idea where book 2 will go. This is one situation where I felt a cliffhanger was probably needed.

Overall, I enjoyed this book and will read book 2 in the series.

My rating. : 4/5*
