Creating Characters Who Come Alive

Over the countless games of Synnibarr I've played in my life, I have had to personally make up, sometimes on the spot, far too many characters to even contemplate.  However, unlike the players' characters, these 'ghosts' only last for a single interaction:  the bartender in the random town, the beggar child, corporate exec, king, dead [...]
