To celebrate the paperback publication of One Cornish Summer Lisa Hill tells us about her Cornish holiday…
‘I had so many photos I could have chosen, I have a wonderful photo of me, my mum, my boys and my late dad at Goonhilly from exactly ten years ago. It was the last holiday we had together in Cornwall and very special to me but it wasn’t very Cornwall-esque so I discounted it. In recent years, I have very many special memories of Port Isaac, which is my favourite destination in Cornwall, as I am a huge Doc Martin fan and two of our favourite Michelin Star restaurants are there, both owned by Nathan Outlaw. Cornwall is synonymous with food for my husband and I, so the photo I’ve chose is actually from a meal in the Golden Lion in Port Isaac. The reason I’ve chosen it is that it is the opposite view to the cover of Liz’s novel. Perhaps a hero, looking out to the heroine on the cover? It seemed appropriate to me.’
