Alex Hunter is more than a man. He's more than a soldier. And many people would love to see him dead, but he's an American, secret, Hero. He's the one who saves the world, when the world never knew it was in peril to begin with. Various times, Hunter's called to take on dark places where only scientists, archeologists and paleontologists dare to tread. A plane crashed in the Antarctic with no communication concerning survivors. Because the location is under a global "No Touch" treaty, it's touch and go on how to retrieve the lost passengers. Thus, the Hawks are called, lead by Hunter.
Beneath the Dark Ice is a scifi adventure that blows you away. The book caters to my desire to hear about people dying of nematodes or parasites that devour a person from the inside out. It's science and horror meshed together, offering a read that will pass so quickly you'll be seeking out the next book by Beck.
I've read two or three books by the author and I intend to purchase more. He's all about the monsters that my childish nightmares were made of and why I refuse to go deep sea diving or spelunking! There are some things, some places I dare never venture because of the stories I've read and the movies I've seen. My imagination is simply too volatile and impressionable for them! LOL Heck, I won't even go camping.
