RiffRaff

I liked to imagine my words traveling across the seas, and I hoped that one day a letter might come back for me.--Lawrence Hill, SOMEONE KNOWS MY NAME
Alan’s daughters (Lauren and Carrie) left on a Colorado ski trip to Breckenridge, an old Victorian town that was brought back to life because of the advent of skiing in Colorado.   They sweetly sent me a postcard.  Lauren and I have a “cute” joke about bigger titties, so she wrote a funny anecdote to our ongoing joke at the end of the postcard.
Hi Mike! We’re having a great time!  It’s really pretty here.  This is an old English town and it is way different from L.A.  We are making lots of friends from all over the world.P.S.  My titties are getting bigger.  Miss You, Lauren and Carrie
I was also happy to escape the riff raff of L.A.  As Alan often says, “It’s good to go away to different places because it works a different part of your brain.”While Alan and I were in New York we were enjoying the Towers Club Floor (thanks to Gloria’s husband, Jack, who is a frequent guest there).  I used the complimentary postcard to write mom a day or two after we arrived:
7-3-92Hi Mom,I found Grandma a scarf.  I couldn’t resist getting you something, too!   I wrote Grandma that I’d give her the birthday surprise over the July 31st weekend.  Alan and I slept for three hours when we arrived here because “3” ladies kept talking and gossiping throughout the entire flight!   We went shopping today (and eating too, of course).  Having Fun….Till next time, Love You, MichaelAlan sends his regards!
“You shouldn’t take good fortune for granted.”  He seemed to be telling him to quit complaining and enjoy it while it lasted.--Christopher Bram, HOLD TIGHT
