Filters
You look at this world and try to understand its complexity. You look at this world and try to make up your mind about it. You look at this world and wonder, “What are we even doing in here?” Well, we all look at this world with different perspectives, don’t we? Because at some point, we develop the need to have an understanding, an interpretation, of this world, so that we can form our opinions and beliefs based on it.
These perspectives, that I said about, are kind of like the filters we use to manipulate our images, but with perspectives, we are actually filtering the light that hits our retina, filtering our understanding about the reality to suit our beliefs. You understand the objective world in your own way, which helps you convince yourself what you believe is true.
For many, the world is made of money, for all they care about is money. But for some, the world is made of love, for all they care about is love. For many, the world is flat, for they try to understand the world in a way which confirms their beliefs. But for some, the world is a sphere, for they have an open mind. The “some” who see the raw unfiltered light. The very few who won’t let filters tamper their vision. The handful of people who aren’t egoistic to throw away their beliefs for information. They are the ones who understand that the world will forever remain a mystery. A mystery which will never let you know who the murderer is, well… in this case, the creator. A mystery which will never let us know why was there, in the first place, a murder, well… in this case, a creation.
We are jailed within a cosmic horizon, made to live with people, whom many, otherwise, won’t choose to live with. But the “some” who wish to go beyond themselves, the “some” who would cross the bridge of the self and have empathy, the “some” who aren’t blinded by their filters, would never stop loving. Because they know, what is done, is done, and we are here and we don’t have a choice, but to love and live.
Humanity doesn’t need to rely on us to survive, it’s quite the opposite.
