So after much deliberation, I decided to go exclusive.

And by much deliberation, I mean I ran out of money and I didn’t know what else to do.

Don’t get me wrong… I’m excited. Like, way excited. I’m glad that I spent my first few months going wide and really understanding the resources that I had available to me as an author. And what I was able to accomplish essentially under my own steam I’m pretty proud of. And I’m eager to use Amazon to keep building on this great foundation that I’ve built.

So for the next three days… book 1 is gonna be FREE on Amazon, to coincide with the launch of book 2 on the 18th. I’ll probably have another free day after that, just to drive the point home, so stay tuned for that.

I’m now setting my sights on Book 3’s launch. I’m seriously considering giving it a Beyonce release, and on my birthday no less. Like, that’s literally what I want. But will it make sense for the book? Time will tell. After that, I’ll probably be in my cave for awhile, on to the next thing. Four books a year was the goal, and I had three or four ideas I was developing, but now I’m settling on one that is sort of decades in the making. It’s a story that I’ve had that I didn’t realize was a story.

Back before I was ever writing, I did a lot of daydreaming. Or at least I thought that’s what it was. I thought I was just amusing myself with re-arranging reality in ways that I thought were interesting and just letting it play in my head. I didn’t know I was concocting stories, not really. So I’ve got this “daydream” that I’ve basically been working on since I was like, ten years old. Obviously, it’s evolved over time, I even left it alone for a few years b/c I thought I was developing an otherwise unhealthy habit that didn’t really serve me in reality (lolz).

It’s about a singer…who falls in love with another singer. One is sort of a Mariah Carey-esque character and the other is a Justin Timberlake-esque character (am I already in danger of being sued? I have no idea how these things work). I’ve already put their names in Amara’s Calling, so I guess it’s going to be set in that universe. It’s going to be pretty elaborate. And I’m pretty daunted with the task of trying to write about singing, and have it actually be compelling. I understand a few authors have already done this. As much as it might be of use to take a look at some of them, I can’t do that. At least not now. Maybe if I get stuck. As you can imagine, this singer has had different trajectories over the years, beginning one way when I was ten, to the latest additions in my 30’s. I was at first thinking about just sticking with the most current idea/plotline/love interest, but just in the last day or so I’ve begun thinking about including it all, and making this like a serial of three small books. Or three regular sized books, hell I don’t know how long this thing would be. I just think it would be neat to not only get this whooooole story out of my head, but to sort of pay tribute to my musings over the years, and include all my ideas for this character into the story and not try to cram 20 years of character development into one novel.

So anyways, that’s where I’m at. I’ve got at least three other standalone books I could work on in case that elephant gets too hard to eat. But yeah. That’s the plan– in case you were wondering.
