This post has absolutely nothing to do with Dr. Who. I just liked the image and what the hell.
For today's coffin hop post, go here!!!
I suppose you could infer I have the single-mindedness of a Dalek, if you'd like. Have at it.
Anywho, as we rapidly approach Nanowrimo, I'm considering how to structure my upcoming writing commitments. There are the daily word-counts on Troll or Derby, of course—then there are the bloggy blogs.
I don't normally write about writing/deadlines, etc. at this page (that's on another site, just ask, it's not a big secret or anything). Breaking that rule for this post, because I'd like to have your feedback.
The CoffinHop silliness of this week has been way more successful than I thought it would be. I have had a lot of fun writing little goofy things as prizes, and unlike the Kindle I gave away as part of my book launch, these little writerly treats are *free*.
As I was telling other writers on a message board lately, I truly believe in attraction, as opposed to promotion. At the same time, starting from scratch with a pen name like I have, I felt like I really needed a running start to get my name out there. (Call me spoiled, but being nationally syndicated for my opinion column made me accustomed to a little more name rec than this nobody moniker swung around a couple of months ago.)
It's out there now, and I've started hearing back from y'all. You like my poetic imagery, you love the page-turning intensity. You think I'm funny. Thank you. Not saying that here to toot my own horn, just trying to figure out how much of what to post on this site, to keep you coming back. Let me entertain you, as it were. Thinking aloud.
Starting in November, I have guests slated for a blog series about the new Kindle Fire, and about the wintertime comfort of reading, in general. Get Fired Up for the Holidays is the working title of that series, and the guests have been hand-picked and are *sure* to please. Aside from that, and Nanowrimo, I'm thinking of incorporating theme days, at least for awhile. Just to give that a try. I've got a few mapped out on the calendar, but I haven't chiseled them into stone just yet.
What do you think? What would you like to see more of? I very much would like to know. You're the reason I'm doing this.
