ASK THE DICE: My Latest Noir With Attitude

Ask the Dice, my latest crime novel, takes it title from Marilyn Monroe, of all people. Here's the anecdote:
"What should I ask the dice for, John?"
"Don't think, honey."
--Marilyn Monroe with the director John Huston at the craps table, Reno, Spring 1960, during their filming of The Misfits, her final motion picture. As reported in Marilyn by Norman Mailer (Grosset & Dunlap, 1973).
At any rate, I wrote Ask the Dice a couple of years ago, so it's been kicking around for a good while now. The protagonist is a hit man named Tommy Mack Zane. I wrote his story by blowing up the cliches about hit men and trying out something a litte different. I'll be blogging posts about all that over the next week or so.
Meantime, if you enjoyed reading my novels Lake Charles and The Blue Cheer, you'd probably like Ask the Dice written in a similar voice.
